ICE# Description

ICE# is a lightweight web browser developed with an overall simplicity in mind for helping you navigate on the Internet.

The advantages of being portable

Since this is a portable program, it is important to mention that it doesn’t leave any traces in the Windows Registry.

You can copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices, and take it with you whenever you need to surf on the Internet on the breeze, without having to go through installation steps.

Just a few tweaks

ICE# boasts a clean and simple layout that offers support for only a few configuration settings. The search engine is set by default, so you cannot change it.

Its overall simplicity may prove to be quite useful for users who are not familiar with a web browser. The tool gives you the possibility to access the homepage with just one click, go to the previous or next page, refresh and print the current webpage, as well as stop the loading process.

What’s more, you are allowed to save webpages to HTML file format or archive and export them to MHT file format, save pictures to JPG or BMP file format, email photos, set an image as your wallpaper, open the My Pictures folder, and copy the selected picture for pasting into other third-party utilities.

The web loading process is not quite fast but the system resources remain low. Unfortunately, ICE# shows that is in its early stage of development and needs major improvements to compete with other powerful web browsers on the market. There are several features that even rookies can’t go without, such as bookmarks, custom homepage and search engine, and a multi-tabbed interface, just to name a few suggestions.

Bottom line

All in all, ICE# comes with only a few dedicated parameters for helping you surf on the Internet. Not only does it need several advanced features to make it appealing to power users, but some basic options are also welcomed for improving its overall functionality.
