Handy Start Menu Description

Using the regular Start menu can be a frustrating experience due to the countless programs piled together with no rhyme or reason. Handy Start Menu is a small utility that can transform the way this panel is displayed.

The app has a small interface that is easy to figure out, thanks to the intuitive layout.

Basically, the program groups together all the apps on the computer into various categories. These can be viewed by clicking the “All Programs” button in the Start menu.

They are called “Office”, “Utilities”, “Games”, “Internet”, “Graphics and Design”, “Security”, “Music and Video”, “Education and Science”, “Miscellaneous” and “Accessories and Built-in Apps”. New categories may be created in just a few steps. If any of these fields are empty, the name isn’t displayed in the list.

While the tool can automatically put each shortcut into the right category, you can drag them around to any field you want.

Several other options are available from the app’s interface. For instance, you can configure the network connection used by the program to connect to the Internet. It can be set to automatically check for updates.

The scale in which the Start menu is displayed may also be modified. By default, the value is set to 110%.

The bottom line is that Handy Start Menu is a nice utility that can come in handy quite often. Inexperienced users shouldn’t have any problems while customizing this program. However, you should pay attention through the installation process, as you might end up with an additional app on the computer.
