Free MIDI Player Description

Free MIDI Player is a practical and user-friendly software solution developed to help you play MID format songs, enabling you to hear all the electronic instruments comprised by the file.

Clear-cut and intuitive looks

The program goes through a quick and uneventful installation process, after which it can be launched and you can start working with it immediately.

The main window of Free MIDI Player consists of a small, non-adjustable screen where you can modify rendering options and listen to your song or pause it, when needed.

Effortlessly play MIDI files on your computer

To get things started, you can load your MID file into the application by browsing through your system and opening it in Free MIDI Player; as drag and drop actions are not supported.

Prior to playing the selected song, you can adjust the ‘Volume’, ‘Tempo’ and ‘Key Offset’ levels by means of their respective gliders. Similarly, you can select the channel that you wish to listen or you can use them all, by checking the proper box.

From the ‘Program’ menu, you can select the instrument you want to use in rendering the Midi file. There is a wide variety of possible options, including ‘Violin’, ‘Cello’, ‘Trumpet’, ‘Harp’, ‘Acoustic Grand Piano’, Harmonica’ and many others.

As the song is being rendered, the corresponding notes will be visually indicated on the piano keyboard in Free MIDI Player’s main window. You can also press the keys yourself in order to determine what a particular note sounds like.

A handy tool for rendering MIDI files

To conclude, Free MIDI Player is a simple yet efficient utility whose main aim resides in allowing you to listen to Musical Instrument Digital Interface files on your computer, being able to perform a series of small adjustments to the volume, tempo and key offset.
