FlameSky Description
FlameSky is a very simple piece of software working as a web browser which aims to offer you the ability of accessing your favorite websites, enabling you to open multiple pages simultaneously.
Basic yet practical looks
The application goes through a fairly standard installation process, after which you can launch it and begin using it right away, its looks and functions making it extremely accessible, even for complete novices.
The main window of FlameSky allows you to input the URL of the Internet page you wish to visit, having the option of launching multiple tabs when needed.
Browse the web in a minimalistic environment
Despite claims that it is based on the Chromium rendering engine, it does not offer the same functionality, its options and preferences being rather limited. As such, more advanced individuals are likely to find it rather frustrating to work with, particularly when compared with other options available on the market.
To open or close tabs, you need to use the corresponding options from the dedicated menu, as FlameSky does not feature support for keyboard shortcuts. It also comes with a set of built-in components, for instance a ‘YouTube Downloader’ and ‘Developer Tools’.
The former only seems able to load videos in an integrated viewer, but not actually save it to your PC. The latter displays the source code of the page, detected links and images, but does not allow you to resize it, for better viewing.
From the ‘Settings’ section, you have the possibility of entering the preferred ‘Homepage’ URL, as well as enable or disable the ‘Search’ box or choose the lookup engine, between Google, Bing, Yahoo! or YouTube.
