FLAC Frontend Description
FLAC Frontend represents a graphical interface for the FLAC lossless audio compressor.
It is able to convert WAV, FLAC, OGG, OGA, AIFF, W64 and RAW files to the FLAC format.
The installation procedure is rapid and does not require special attention.
Its GUI is made from a regular window with a well-defined structure, containing standard and advanced options alike, for all types of users.
Adding audio tracks to the list is done using either the file browser or drag-and-drop support. Batch processing is supported, meaning that you can convert multiple items at the same time.
All you have to do is select the output directory and start the encoding procedure with the click of a button. Details are shown in a Command Prompt window.
Advanced users may tinker with some audio settings when it comes to the encoding level, post-task file verification, and ReplayGain calculation. Furthermore, the tool can be set to delete the original files after conversion, keep foreign metadata, create and read files as OGG-FLAC, execute extra command lines, as well as embed a cue sheet for encoding.
The software application carries out a conversion job rapidly and without errors, delivering quality audio tracks. We have not come across any issues throughout our evaluation, aside from the fact that FLAC Frontend does not offer support for MP3 files.
Other than that, the program should please all users who are looking for a fast way to create FLAC files from various audio file types, backed up by powerful settings. There is also a portable edition available, in case you want to bypass the installer.
