Family Tree Analyzer Description

Family Tree Analyzer is a tiny and portable piece of kit that loads the content of GEDCOM files. It comes packed with several useful settings.

As installation is not a requirement, you can drop the program files to a custom directory on the hard disk and just click the executable to run.

There is also the option of saving Family Tree Analyzer to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any machine with minimum effort and no prior installers.

What’s more, the tool does not create new entries in the Windows registry or Start menu, leaving the disk clean after removal.

The UI is represented by a normal window with multiple tabs, where you can load GED-formatted files using either the file browser or drag-and-drop method.

The first pane shows statistics concerning sources, individuals and families, while the rest of them contain data about individuals, families, surnames, locations, occupations, facts, data errors, births and deaths, census, lost cousins, search summaries, treetops, and war dead.

It is possible to back up and restore the Geocode database, create reports with parent age or older parents, as well as export individuals, families and facts to Excel. As far as maps are concerned, the app is capable of showing the timeline, lifelines and places, as well as run Geocoder to find locations.

Family Tree Analyzer is low-demanding when it comes to system resources, using light CPU and RAM. It has a good response time and works well, without causing the OS to hang, crash or pop up error dialogs. All in all, Family Tree Analyzer serves its purpose, and can be used by anyone.
