EF AutoSync Description

EF AutoSync proposes a straightforward approach to auto-synchronizing data between any two given locations, backed by an intuitive workspace and plenty of nifty options.

This utility comes in handy when you want to automatize the file copying procedure from your work computer to a USB flash disk or external hard drive, in order to oversee important information at home, to name an example. Thus, EF AutoSync restores valuable time to the user.

After a quick and uneventful setup procedure, the program creates an icon in the system tray area when initialized, so you can click it to set up as many jobs as you want, for various purposes.

Pointing out two locations for synchronizing data is done with the help of the tree view; unfortunately, the drag-and-drop feature is not supported.

EF AutoSync comprises an impressive range of options for data manipulation, as you can add new files to the left or right folder, update items or delete orphan entries from either side, enable recursive folders, as well as compare files by content, among others.

You can make a selection out of one or more previously described actions, in order to customize the synchronization profile. But there are also some presets available, dedicated to mirror, augment, refresh, update, consolidation, and bidirectional sync modes.

What’s more, you can filter items by specifying a file mask, exclusion list, date and time attributes, size and file attributes. Job names can be organized into a menu with separators, so you can directly access them via the context menu of the tray icon.

EF AutoSync logs job activity and facilitates task scheduling. Last but not least, you can backup settings to an INI file to ready them for further jobs.

The tool has a minimal impact on system performance, offers multilingual support, has a good response time and doesn’t interrupt user activity while running data synchronization jobs in the background. Unfortunately, the app froze out of the blue a couple of times throughout our evaluation, and we had to restart it; perhaps it has some stability issues with Windows 7. Overall, EF AutoSync delivers excellent features for automatically syncing files and folders between any two locations at optimum speed.
