Ecopath with Ecosim Description
Ecopath with Ecosim is an ecosystem modelling application. It allows you to analyze and understand complex marine ecosystems, but also create your own scenarios.
The program can be used to evaluate the ecosystem effect on nature, analyze the impact and placement of marine protected areas, as well as assess the consequences of environmental changes.
It consists of three different modules:
· Ecopath, that can display a ‘snapshot; of the system, with all its characteristics;
· Ecosim, a dynamic simulation module;
· Ecospace, a module for exploring impact and placement of protected areas.
