DSL Speed Description
DSL Speed is a network optimization tool that’s exclusively addressed to DSL connections, trying to increase speed as much as possible.
Although it provides a pretty fast way to optimize a DSL connection, the interface is not very intuitive, so it could take a few seconds to figure out its usage.
There are two optimization modes, “Normal” and “Advanced”, both promising to do the same thing: increasing browsing and downloading speeds.
The “Normal” mode is the one that takes just a second because user efforts are reduced to pressing the “Process” button. A reboot is needed once the optimization comes to an end.
On the other hand, the “Advanced” version asks the user to verify the best MTU value online and only then proceed with the optimization process. Again, everything should work like a breeze because DSL Speed does the whole job automatically for both tasks.
DSL Speed doesn’t come with a settings menu, but instead it boasts a shortcut to a collection of links where you can perform speed tests and thus find out for sure whether the app increased your speed or not. It includes a comprehensive help manual, so rookies should have no problems using the app.
All things considered, DSL Speed is a decent program, but still needs some enhancements in many key areas. The interface, for instance, should be better organized, with a more user friendly approach. Both optimization modes need detailed explanations so that users are informed properly of their operating algorithm.
