The utility offers support for various file management operations, such as Move, Copy, Compress, Extract, Rename, Delete, Encrypt, Decrypt, Upload, Open with, Change Properties, Ignore, Send by Email, Create Gallery, Create List, Create Playlist, Create Shortcut, and Copy to Clipboard.
DropIt gives you the possibility to drag the desired folder and drop it on the popup window. You can configure a new profile for each directory in terms of name, user-defined rules, action (e.g. Move, Copy), and destination folder.
What’s more, you can move the popup panel to any area of the desktop and customize its layout by uploading a picture from the computer (GIF, JPG, PNG), and specifying its size and opacity.
When it comes to configuration settings, you are allowed to make the program remain on top of other applications, lock the tool’s position on the screen, play sound notifications at the end of a task, scan subfolders, and overwrite, skip, or rename duplicate items.
Additionally, DropIt lets you scan the monitored folder at a user-defined time, run the tool at Windows startup, filter files by path, name, extension, size, creation date, and other criteria, encrypt data with a master password, back up the settings, as well as enable the logging process.
During our testing we have noticed that DropIt carries out a task extremely quickly, and no errors showed up throughout the entire process. It doesn’t eat up a lot of CPU and memory, so the overall performance of the computer is not burdened.
