Disco XT Description
Disco XT is a comprehensive audio processing tool for mixing and organizing files. It primarily caters to advanced users, such as DJs, but it also leaves room for less experienced enthusiasts.
Once the program is initialized, you can let it import songs and playlists from iTunes, or add custom audio files, as well as select the speaker output, headphone output, and microphone input device.
The interface is modern and appealing, divided into several panels dedicated to playlists, a mixer, library view, samples, decks, and comps.
In mixer mode you can load audio files to the left and right deck to fiddle with them. So, you may set the filter to low pass or high pass mode and adjust it, set the filter resonance, gain and volume level, apply transitions and effects (e.g. chorus, flanger, delay, phaser, reverb, cross-fade), as well as edit the sampler. Switching to headset mode is done with the click of a button.
Disco XT lets you create playlists and lists of requests, detect BPMs, edit metadata, label songs by color, as well as copy the playlist as text. There are many other advanced options available in this application suite, and you may consult an extensive help file.
The program is pretty light on the system resources, using low CPU and RAM. It has a good reaction time and delivers quality audio playback. No error dialogs were shown in our tests, and the tool did not hang or crash. All in all, Disco XT is a versatile audio mixing application that comprises numerous options for passionate users.
