Desktop Ghost Commander is a user-friendly and reliable piece of software functioning as a file manager which hides at the top of your screen and appear only when you hover with your mouse cursor over it.

Subsequent to a fairly brief and uneventful installation, you can launch the program, bearing in mind that for better results, you should use your administrator privileges.

The utility automatically retreats to the top of your desktop, also being present through a system tray icon, which you can access by right-clicking it.

Desktop Ghost Commander comes with three built-in categories, namely ‘My Desktop’, ‘My Computer’ and ‘My Documents’, but you can easily add, edit or remove them using the context menu options. When creating a new category, you need to specify the ‘Display Name’, the ‘Type’ (choosing ‘Folder’ or ‘Document’ from a drop-down menu), also inputting its ‘Default Path’.

Once done, it will automatically appear in the main window of Desktop Ghost Commander, so you can access the directory’s contents with a simple click on the title, while in the case of documents, these will be opened in their default software.

Other components that Desktop Ghost Commander provides you with include the ‘Multi-Rename Tool’, ‘Split File’ or ‘Combine File’, and several more, meant to assist you in working with your documents more easily.
