Decipher TextMessage Description
Decipher TextMessage is a useful tool for the users who want to recover text messages from their iPhone. The program can be used if you want to review a message that has been deleted by retrieving it from an older backup.
Even if the memory allocated to the text messages is quite large, some of the messages get deleted accidentally by the user. If you have deleted important messages but have a phone backup on your computer, this application allows you to review the old messages without having to restore the entire backup..
When you launch the application for the first time, it automatically searches for a phone backup file made with iTunes and displays the conversation list in the main window. You can browse the messages from a certain contact by simply selecting it from the list.
By default, the program searches in the iTunes backups and cannot detect the backup files if they are saved in a different location. However, you can specify the folder in the Preferences menu in order to include additional backup files.
If you want to save the message on your computer you have two options: extract only the conversation as a text file or export all the items including the attachments. The second option is useful when you need to extract photos or other files attached to the message.
The list of messages can also be exported as a CSV file which can be opened in Excel or other applications. When exporting the attachments the message text is saved as a HTML file that can be opened in an Internet browser.
