Curved Spaces Description

Curved Spaces is an easy-to-use, fun and educational flight simulator that gives you the possibility to explore the universe. It can open files with the .gen format to let you freely navigate it with only the help of your mouse.

Installation is not necessary so you can unzip the downloaded archive and just double-click the .exe to reach the main app window. Another possibility is to copy Curved Spaces to a USB flash drive to be able to run it on any PC without setup. There’s also a version optimized for touchscreen devices included in the pack.

Explore the universe in an interactive way

The main window of the application allows you to explore the space by dragging the image with the mouse cursor. Curved Spaces is wrapped in a rather simplistic interface, keeping all options accessible via the menu bar.

Only Curved Spaces Generator files can be opened with this tool, which have the .gen format. Any other types of files are unsupported. Several .gens can be found in the downloaded package.

Copy and save images to file

An animation is triggered as soon as a file is opened and you can use the mouse to click and drag it to any direction and perspective. A shot of the current picture can be copied to the clipboard or saved to file (32-bit .bmp).

Moreover, you can set the centerpiece to the Earth, galaxy or gyroscope, enable or disable spaceship mode and color coding, set the Clifford parallels (bicolor, one, two or three sets), view vertex figures, activate fog, switch to fullscreen, as well as enable stereoscopic 3D view in color or greyscale.

The tool worked smoothly on Windows 10 in our tests and left a small footprint on system resources usage. However, Its lack of more comprehensive features is likely to put off users looking to further experiment with a flight simulator.
