Content Checker for Chrome Description

Content Checker for Chrome is an extension for the popular browser that can scan the content of the currently visited webpage and return statistical data on the number of identified e-mail addresses, hash codes, social security numbers or credit card numbers.

If you don’t want to install it from the Chrome Web Store directly, the downloaded CRX file must be dragged and dropped within the ‘Extension’ area of the ‘Settings’ section. Once it is installed in Chrome, Content Checker adds a new icon at the end of the URL field, right next to the ‘Favorites’ icon.

Counts e-mail and IP addresses, encryption hashes and other data

The icon offers one-click access to the retrieved information, enabling you to view the content report within a small, popup window inside Chrome. Please note that this extension only generates a count for the aforementioned items, but it does not allow you to actually view the detected e-mail addresses or IP addresses, nor to extract them to your computer.

As such, you can view the number of e-mail addresses the webpage hosts, but you cannot save the list locally. Content Checker for Chrome displays a count of the MD5, MD5-bb3, MySQL5 and MD5-Wordpress encryption hashes, IPv4 and IPv6 IP addresses, social security numbers from the U.S. and Sweden, as well as Visa, Master, Amex and Discover cards.

Access via Chrome’s context menu

For your convenience, it adds a new item within the context menu of Chrome, enabling you to check a text selection only, view whois data or access the Google, Bing caches or the Wayback Internet archive.

Additionally, you can use it to instantly search for the opened URL in the Google cache or on Bing, as well as get whois information about the domain.

Get content reports on the visited page

Content Checker for Chrome can offer you a statistical report about the content of a visited webpage, but it does not allow you to extract e-mail addresses or other data, so you must find some other tool to help you in this matter.
