✅ How to Use CDex – Step-by-Step

🔹 Step 1: Download and Install

  • Go to the official site: https://cdex.mu
  • Download the latest stable version.
  • Install it (avoid any optional offers during install).

🔹 Step 2: Insert an Audio CD

  • Insert your CD into your computer’s CD/DVD drive.
  • Launch CDex.
  • The track list will appear automatically if the CD is recognized.

🔹 Step 3: Configure Settings (Optional but Recommended)

  • Click Options > Settings:

In “Encoder” tab:

  • Choose your format: MP3, WAV, FLAC, etc.
  • For MP3: Choose the LAME encoder and set bitrate (e.g., 192 or 320 kbps for high quality).

In “CD Drive” tab:

  • Make sure your CD drive is selected.

In “Remote CDDB” tab:

  • Enable CDDB/freedb to automatically get album and track info (optional but useful).

🔹 Step 4: Rip the CD

  • Select tracks you want to rip (or Ctrl+A to select all).
  • Click the “Extract CD tracks to compressed audio file” button (looks like a CD → MP3 icon).
  • Choose a destination folder if prompted.
  • Wait for it to finish ripping.

🔹 Step 5: Find Your Files

  • Go to the output folder you selected (default is usually in “My Music” or “CDex Music”).
  • Files will be named and tagged if CDDB info was available.
