🔹 Step 1: Download and Install
- Go to the official site: https://cdex.mu
- Download the latest stable version.
- Install it (avoid any optional offers during install).
🔹 Step 2: Insert an Audio CD
- Insert your CD into your computer’s CD/DVD drive.
- Launch CDex.
- The track list will appear automatically if the CD is recognized.
🔹 Step 3: Configure Settings (Optional but Recommended)
- Click Options > Settings:
In “Encoder” tab:
- Choose your format: MP3, WAV, FLAC, etc.
- For MP3: Choose the LAME encoder and set bitrate (e.g., 192 or 320 kbps for high quality).
In “CD Drive” tab:
- Make sure your CD drive is selected.
In “Remote CDDB” tab:
- Enable CDDB/freedb to automatically get album and track info (optional but useful).

- Select tracks you want to rip (or Ctrl+A to select all).
- Click the “Extract CD tracks to compressed audio file” button (looks like a CD → MP3 icon).
- Choose a destination folder if prompted.
- Wait for it to finish ripping.
