Binal Description

Whether it is placed on your nightstand or your wrist, the clock or the hand watch have both functional and aesthetic purposes. In particular, leaving aside their practical use, binary clocks look very interesting and rather futuristic. If you did not try wearing one or buying one for your home, then you can start by placing one on your desktop thanks to Binal.

A binary clock to place anywhere on the screen

Designed more as a desktop gadget than as a standard application, Binal displays a binary clock on your desktop, allowing you to check the time a bit differently.

Instead of displaying numbers in base 10, which most of us are used to, it shows the time using numbers in base 2. In other words, it only works with 1s and 0s, which are, in fact, graphically represented using lights. As you probably already figured out, the “on” light is equivalent to a 1, while an “Off’ light corresponds to a 0.

12-hour and 24-hour time format, and custom colors

The application’s settings are limited in number, but you can customize the status color, meaning the colors of the lights when they are on or off, and change the colors of the text and the clock background.

There are two modes you can configure Binal. By default, it runs as a 24-hours clock, but you can switch to the 12-hour format with just a few clicks.

Place a cool-looking clock on your desktop

Binal can add the “cool” factor to your desktop, placing a binary clock that works as planned. Managing to read such a clock as fast as you would a regular one is a whole other story, which some might have the patience to try and others might not. While not so difficult, it takes a bit of practice to be able to convert the binary value to decimal easily.
