bcTester Description
bcTester is a compact Windows application built specifically for helping users read barcode information from images or PDF files.
It sports a clean and intuitive layout that allows you to upload files into the working environment using the built-in browse function or “drag and drop” support.
bcTester works with the following file formats: JPG, BMP, TIF, PNG, and PDF. The program is able to read the barcodes from scanned images and provides details about them such type, value, status, rotation angles, and size.
What’s more, you are allowed to print or copy data to the clipboard, zoom in or out, recognize Aztec, QR, or linear barcodes, covert the pictures to monochrome format, as well as view information about the current image (filename, type, size).
Other important features worth mentioning are represented by the possibility to switch to a full screen mode for a better focus on your work, and use hotkeys (they cannot be reassigned).
When it comes to barcode configuration settings, you are allowed to select the type from different templates, and pick the rotation and skewing angle. Advanced parameters let you set up the search parameters for barcode data in terms of margins, scanning distance, minimum and maximum height, and others.
During our testing we have noticed that bcTester carries out a task very quickly and without errors throughout the entire process. It doesn’t eats up CPU and memory, so the overall performance of the computer is not affected.
