Battery Mode Description

Windows’ default Battery Indicator from the taskbar does a good of providing you with a quick way of changing between preferred power plans or accessing the Power Options section from the Control Panel, but that’s about it.

If you are longing for a more advanced solution for managing your computer’s/ laptop’s power plans, then you should definitely check out Battery Mode.

In just a few words, this lightweight yet extremely helpful app provides you with more advanced power management options, convenient backlight control, battery information, and other noteworthy features that will be mention in a bit.

More powerful, yet just as unobtrusive as the default battery indicator

Once installed, you will notice that Battery Mode sports a similarly compact UI that can be summoned via a small icon on the taskbar. In addition, you will also regard that it does not limit you to just two power schemes but, instead, it offers a full list of the power plans, namely Power Saver, Balanced, and High Performance.

With the help of its pop-up menu (easily accessible by right-clicking the icon,) you are provided with a plethora of advanced options.

Advanced, configurable and convenient power management utility

For example, you should also know that it allows you to easily control the backlight of both internal or externally connected monitors and even turn them on or off. It’s also worth mentioning that if you can prevent the backlight levels from changing when attaching or detaching power connections by checking the Fixed screen brightness option.

As far as customization features are concerned, Battery Mode does no disappoint. It allows you to change the icon style and color, to change the Popup footer command (by default it is “Turn Off Screen”), to disable the popup window’s border, and to customize various hotkeys.

If not for anything else, Battery Mode will appeal to you thanks to its Scheduler feature

By far the best feature of this little utility is the Scheduler which is surprisingly intuitive, we might add.

It allows you to add custom rules based on various triggers, conditions, and actions. For example, you can setup Batter Mode to show you a message or automatically set a power scheme or to even launch a program if, for example, the battery levels fall bellow a certain threshold, but it can do so much more.

Once you try Batter Mode, you will forget all about the Windows default battery indicator

To conclude, Battery Mode is an efficient and very practical utility that not only does it provide you with oodles of advanced power management and various customization options, but it does so in a more straightforward manner, without ever getting in your way.
