AVI Splitter is a software that is designed for a single task: to cut files in the AVI format to the needed length.
The user interface of the program resembles an ordinary media player so you can start by inserting an AVI file, by using the file browser or the “drag and drop” method.
The concept of AVI Splitter is simple. You can normally play the video and navigate back and forth in it by using the “Fast Forward” and “Fast Backward” buttons, as well as “Next Frame” and “Previous Frame”.
Once you have selected the start and end point of the segment you want to extract, you can save the piece in a preferred output directory and optionally set AVI Splitter to extract the video with recompression methods (you have to specify the audio and video compression).
In addition, you can split the video into equal-sized parts, as well as go to first or last frame, and to the selection start or end. You can also use hotkeys, but these cannot be changed.
“System Information” will allow you to view details about the program and Windows version, file size and streams, along with audio and video codecs.
