AsterWin IE Description
AsterWin IE is a simple software application that enables you to recover Internet Explorer passwords that you have lost or forgotten. In order for it to work, the keys must be saved in the web browser’s configuration settings.
This tool hasn’t been updated for a long time. Although it was designed for Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000 and XP, it still runs on newer OS editions but it doesn’t work properly. As far as requirements are concerned, the product is compatible with Internet Explorer 5.0 and newer, and it needs Microsoft Visual Basic 6 installed.
The downloaded package includes a Readme text file, help file and AsterWin IE’s executable file, along with the program’s source code (written in Visual Basic), spread across three files (.frm, .frx and .vbp).
The interface is user-friendly and consists of a common window with only one button, which triggers Internet Explorer to reveal the saved passwords. This action is performed instantly. Although there is no button implemented for copying information to the Clipboard, you can easily do this by making a text selection and by using the global Copy hotkey or by opening the right-click menu.
