ArabicNormalizer Description

ArabicNormalizer is a lightweight and very easy to understand piece of software developed mainly for Arabic speakers who need to simplify written texts by removing superfluous diacritics.

Minimalistic yet accessible looks

The interface of the application consists of two main panels, one for source text, on the right while the one on the left is reserved for the converted message.

At the top, ArabicNormalizer features a dedicated button meant to trigger the diacritics cleanup operation, so you do not need to look for it too long, as it is quite evident from the first run.

Remove Fatha, Damma, Kasra Chadda diacritics from Arabic texts

In accordance with Arabic writing styles, the tool will display paragraphs from right to left, with the source text in the right panel while the result is listed on the left. To add the phrases, you can simply paste them from the clipboard, as ArabicNormalizer does not feature an ‘Import’ or ‘Open File’ function so that you can load a local document.

After pasting in the targeted sentences, you can press the dedicated button to remove a variety of diacritics from it, namely single and double Fatha, Damma, Kasra or Chadda, all with a single click.

The generated message, displayed on the left-side panel of ArabicNormalizer, can be copied to clipboard, enabling you to paste it into your working window or document, for further work, as it does not provide you with an ‘Export’ or ‘Save’ function either.

In closing, ArabicNormalizer is a useful program that you can resort to for ensuring your Arabic texts are easier to read, by cleaning up the diacritics that are loading your pages.
