Acala DVD iPod Ripper Description
Acala DVD iPod Ripper is an application with a pretty self-explanatory title – it allows you to convert DVDs to the MP4 format supported by iPods but also by iPhones and iPads.
The interface of the program is plain and simple to work with. You can import a DVD into the list by using the treeview only, because the “drag and drop” method is not supported. Batch processing is not permitted.
In the queue you can check out the name, duration, start and end time, along with output filename of the DVD and its chapters. So, after you establish the output profile and directory, you can proceed with the encoding job.
But you can also modify audio and video preferences when it comes to the codec, size, quality, frame rate, sample frequency rate, aspect ratio, channel mode and volume. Settings can be restored to their default values at any time.
Furthermore, you can select individual DVD chapters for processing along with the audio track, subtitle stream angle and maximum number of threads, as well as preview DVDs in a built-in media player and cut them by marking the start and end position.
The DVD conversion software uses a moderate amount of system resources, has a fair response time, quickly finishes a task and manages to keep a good image and sound quality in the output videos. No errors have occurred during our tests and Acala DVD iPod Ripper did not freeze or crash. Too bad there is no help file available. But, even so, we strongly recommend Acala DVD iPod Ripper to all users.
