It comes with a user-friendly interface that makes it easy even for novices to start capturing their desktop activity and save it as a video.
Record the full desktop or a custom area
The application allows you to define the area that should be recorded, thus offering you control over the custom region you are interested in. You can also select one of the currently open windows to be captured.
Also, you can record the entire desktop, or you can take a snapshot of the marked area, which can be saved as a PNG, JPEG or BMP file to a location of your choice.
Regardless of the type of capture you prefer, you can turn to associated hotkeys to start and stop the video. You can alter these hotkeys to your liking from the Settings window.
Add shapes and text messages to recordings
Soft4boost Screen Recorder makes it possible for you to enhance your project with a few drawing tools that are activated as soon as you start a new video.
More precisely, you can add circles, rectangles, lines or arrows, then adjust their width and color as you see fit. You can also add freehand texts that can help you send a stronger message with your recording (text boxes, cliparts or custom images cannot be added to the video).
Preview the result and save it
A nifty function of this app is that it supports pausing the current recording, then resuming it at a later time without affecting the quality of the output video.
When you are done with the demonstration, you can stop the capturing process and preview the outcome in a dedicated window. If you are pleased with the result, you can save it as FLV, WMV or AVI.
