Though flash based storage, such as USB memory sticks offer higher transfer speeds and more storage space and versatility, optical media such as CDs and DVDs are still commonly used around the world.
Dragon is a simple and easy to use software solution designed to quickly burn your data to a CD or DVD.
A simple user interface
Installing Dragon is easy and quick. After running the installer, the application is ready to go.
Bringing up its main window showcases its simple and straightforward interface, which is divided into four panels. The two to the left are used to navigate to, and select the files you want to burn and the two to the right are used to display which files have already been added to the burn list.
It should be noted that the application does not support dragging and dropping files into its main window in order to add them to the list, and while it does support some keyboard shortcuts or hotkeys, it does not support some of the more useful ones (such as Control+A to select all of the files within a folder).
The application can be used to erase re-writable disks, create ISO images and burn disks. These functions are accessible by pressing the dedicated toolbar buttons or accessing the Action menu.
However, the functions of the buttons located on the toolbar are not immediately obvious and might be confusing to some users. What’s more, the color scheme, which cannot be customized or changed, might be considered a bit uncomfortable for some users’ eyes.
Conclusions
Dragon is a CD/DVD and ISO creator that does its job, however, its user-interface is not as intuitive, convenient or easy to use as it could be.
