Fractal Explorer Description
Fractal Explorer is an educational software that enables you to observe the perpetuous creation of fractals, in a simple interface and friendly work environment. The software consists of a display window, which you can easily enlarge and a parameters dialog box that you can hide or display.
Generate fractals by user criteria
The software offers two types of fractal generating algorithms, namely Mandelbrot and Julia. The two names define sets of complex numbers, in a sequence of sums and square multiplications that does not approach infinity. Based on these equations, the software can display colored pixels that change appearance, according to how rapidly the sequence diverges.
The fractals are a natural phenomenon, as well as a mathematical set that displays a repeating pattern at different scales. In Fractal Explorer, the objects are represented in several colors that indicate the repetition of a certain set
Easily create and save fractal images
As you open Fractal Explorer, you can load a previously created fractal image and study it, or let the software generate a new fractal object. The software supports input FTF, TIFF, PNG, JPG or BMP files. You can manually enter the display criteria, in order to view the specific representation. Thus, you may set the fractal position in the display area, according to the X and Y axes, as well as the repetition indicator.
You may easily load a previously created image, for study, or generate a fresh one, based on certain input parameters. You can easily restore the criteria to the default ones, by clicking Reset button or save the image to your computer as a TIFF, FTF or a common picture format file.
Mathematics, geometry and natural patterns study
Fractals are more than mathematics or biology, but a phenomena that you can find in many fields of science and nature. They make a fascinating study and Fractal Explorer’s purpose is to offer you the means to observe their evolution. However, the software could benefit from a manual navigation tool or an option to change the colors of the fractal display.
