DC++ Portable Description
For many years now, DC++ has been mixing online socializing with file sharing. DC++ Portable remains true to its roots and brings the same combination of abilities to the screen.
The app’s interface is complex, but thanks to the intuitive layout, everyone should be able to easily figure out how to work with this tool.
The program requires a username for each person that logs in. Also, you must pick the Internet connection type and share some files from the computer. Most hubs have a minimum sharing limit without which you aren’t able to enter the channel.
Also, you must specify a target location for the downloaded files, both for temporary and completed files. The program can create these folders on its own, but it’s best if you take care of the issue since there’s always the problem of hard drive space.
Advanced users can work with a bunch of additional settings. The easiest of them is customizing the frame’s appearance. Additionally, you can have the app clean the search box after each search and to define the types of files you want the program to search for in the various hubs that are connected.
Since the program is completely portable, it doesn’t need to be installed to the computer. This can be a serious advantage since you can launch it from a flash drive. Also, it shouldn’t leave any traces in the Windows Registry.
The bottom line is that DC++ Portable is a nice tool that can be very useful. Thanks to the intuitive layout, less experienced users shouldn’t have any troubles while installing or customizing this program.
